Ethan Lee is a Researcher at AddressHate. He holds an MSc in Medical Anthropology from the University of Oxford and a BA in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His research examines the intersections of health policy and public discourse, with a particular interest in how marginalized communities are represented within public health research. His previous work has explored anti-trans legislation in the United Kingdom and the United States, analyzing contemporary debates around bodily autonomy and self-determination.
At AddressHate, he works on research into different hate ideologies and their underlying discursive construction in online environments using qualitative analysis. He has also contributed to the development of training to identify hate speech and case studies on the use of specific rhetorical devices to exonerate hate speech and inculcate marginalized groups.
