How do we use technology to address hate?
Through an analysis of existing technologies and their potential applications in reducing and counteracting digital hate, and building on our technological assessment of the origins of digital hate, we will develop a framework for a new suite of tools designed to combat digital hate by addressing these (and other) key technological questions:
1. What does a technology-first approach mean for fighting digital hate.?
2. How does a technology first approach to combating digital hate contrast with traditional approaches?
3. Are there any limitations to what technology can do to combat hate What are they? Why?
4. Timing is important. What are the existing technologies that can be put into play in the combat against digital hate?
5. Bot Warfare: how these driving forces have created a world where Influencers cannot compete against Bots. What can we do?
6. If Bots are the distribution mechanism, what is AI doing to create the content and how is AI contained across borders?
7. What are the AI models that can address hate?
8. How do we train the BERT model? What are issues we need to be mindful of while training the model?
9. Given the cross-border nature of Bots and AI technology, what technology policies have been attempted to address digital hate and antisemitism?
10.How has European Commission, cracked down on social media and antisemitism?
11.Is it possible to replicate the European success in the American context?
12.What existing tools and internal policies do major platforms currently use to address hate speech and moderate their content?
